Faceted Clay Necklace Tutorial Preview

3.13.2012

Today I'm guest posting over at Craftionary! I did a tutorial on how to make this faceted clay bead necklace. It's super easy to make, so go on over there and check it out!

In a couple hours I'll be posting the Anniversary Giveaway, and it's pretty freaking awesome so you'll definitely want to come back to check it out and join in. Want a hint? Hmm. Well, I went to the craft store last night (those of you who follow me on twitter got a heads up while I was there!) and picked up a bunch of cool stuff. You'll have to come back to find out exactly what I got!

By the way, no you did not accidentally get some acid in your coffee. My hair is indeed orange. I *may* have had a haircolor disaster. Well, not quite a disaster per se, but I'm definitely getting some weird looks amongst the wandering public. On the other hand, my wilting street cred shot back up cause it totally looks like I meant to dye my hair orange.

I am slowly taking my hair down from brown to blonde. I've obsessively taken care of my hair (no dye except pure henna, no chemicals, barely even blow drying) for three years because I had basically tortured my hair since I hit puberty, and I ended up having to nearly shave my head a few years ago and start over. It's pretty long now and I just couldn't take the boring color anymore so what do I do? Dump bleach all over my head, of course. *SIGH.* Well, the good news is that it's not damaged, but it's gonna take a couple more processes to get the orange out. Hopefully it survives and I won't have to shave my head. Again.

OH THE DRAMA. Anyway, check out my necklace tutorial at Craftionary, and come back later to jump in the giveaway! Here's another pic of the awesomeness:

  2. My hair is going through a similar process right now. I just want to be blonde again! So, I've been gradually (or not so gradually) adding in orange-y highlights to try to get it closer to that point. Your approach may be better...

  4. Your clay beads are gorgeous, beautifully created. I love designing and creating jewelry as well so I was fascinated by your faceted beads (smile). I am now a follower of your blog and look forward to return visits. I invite you to join me as well on my blog at http://atastefultouch.blogspot.com

I'm not always great at replying to comments but I DO read every single one of them and I always reply in my head. So in my mind we've had this deep conversation about the meaning of life or whatever, and we're best friends, and we craft together on Sunday afternoons while drinking Mojitos and watching old Indiana Jones movies. So thank you for your comments. And now I want a mojito.
